Socks are a special focus for this year! We are part of the Knitters Magazine and Cherry Tree Hill yarns special shop. In 1996, Knitters published the first Socks, Socks, Socks book that was from the first contest for sock design. Come in and get an entry form. Over $20,000 of prize money is available. Try your hand and enter. You may be surprised as one of the winners!!!!
This month, on Saturday mornings, Vickie will be teaching you how to design those socks and knit them on one needle, two at a time. A challenge, but Vickie is up to it. Come in and join her. You must have knitted socks already to take this class. One of her technical skills that she will share is knitting magic loop, two socks at one time. $40 Every Saturday morning in April from 10 to 12 noon.
Karen will be teaching basic socks on every Monday am from 10-12 noon for those of you that want to learn to knit socks from top down on one circular needle. Have Fun and learn a new set of skills that will translate to other projects in your knitting. Always a fun-filled class. $40

Cathy’s next project is a basic scarf done in ribbon yarn. Cathy will teach you how to manage those ribbon yarns for the best look and you will end up with Sally Melville’s triangular scarf at the end. Come in and see the sample and look at some of the future projects that will be done from the same book being used for this project. $20 April 22, 29 12:30-2pm
Beginning knit will be offered at the following times: $20 Wednesdays 10-12 noon Thursday evenings 6-8pm Saturday afternoons 1-3pm Each enrolled class will be 2 class times in sequence and the student will learn to cast on, knit, purl, bind off. At the end of the class, you will be working on a scarf with a basic design. We will discuss future classes, if the student desires, to further your learning of the knitting skills.
Group knitting is a new time that we are starting this month. It will consist of two projects that all will be working on at the same time. There will be no fee and no teacher, though staff will be available to assist as needed. We are starting the knit kimono from the book that was such a hit as a trunk show. Currently there are 5-10 that have expressed interest in this project, so come in and knit together on Fridays during April from 1-4pm. If there are other times that some of you would rather gather, let us know and we will split the group into 2 groups. Yarns that you requested are here but two of the colors may not be available from Berroco. Call and discuss with Karen your color selection.
Wednesdays from 12-4pm will be the slot for the convertible coat from Lily Chin group knit. This is Margaret’s favorite sweater coat that she has brought to the shop for all to see. We will finally have the patterns in a few days, just in time to start this group project in April on the 9th. Come in and choose your yarn. We suggest the Schafer yarn Sandra for this quick knit project.
Beth is coming on board and doing felting classes this month. She has developed a tote that is her own creation along with a bowl.
