October 2009 Classes - Can't believe that October is almost upon us, bringing fall and Apple Festival to the North Georgia Mountains in Ellijay.  Color will be abounding and replace the mildew green from all the liquid sunshine that we have received. Yes we are still afloat with no damage from the storms of September.  God is in control, but I must admit that I was questioning His actions when we were reported to have received 20"of rain in a week!

September 2009 Classes - Special events this month will be a trunk show from XRX books on their newest book Knitter’s at Home. This trunk show will have many models or samples of the afghans, pillows and items made from this great book of ideas for the home. We will have the models from September 14th to 18th. This will inspire you to do some of the items in the book, so come and get some ideas and maybe decide on a Christmas gift idea.

June 2009 Classes - May is almost over and June is quickly coming around the bend. Because the summer may get away from us before we know it, Janice and I wanted to update everyone on the state of business at Strings & Stitches Yarn Shoppe in Ellijay, Georgia. First, we will be closed to observe the Memorial Day holiday. Hope any of you that has yarn needs will get in to see us before Monday.

May 2009 Classes - Beginning Knitting continues to be a great beginning point in your journey for knitting skills. In this class you will learn to cast-on, knit, purl and bind off. We have several class schedules from which to pick. Wednesdays 10:30 to 12 with Kris, Thursdays evening from 5:30-7pm with Karen, or Saturday from 10:30-12noon with Darlene. Come get started on an adventure of a life-time! 4 classes for $30

April 2009 Classes - We have just received the Sock Boot camp from SWTC today. This is a trunk show of some of their socks done in Tofutsies yarns. Drop by and see some of the excitement of Tofutsies, which is an antibacterial yarn blend that has beautiful colors.

March 2009 Classes - Bright new colors and wonderfully different fibers are coming in almost daily. We have received and processed new yarns from Berroco, Plymouth, SWTC, Tahki Stacy Charles, Koigu (we have been waiting 2 yrs for their yarns) and others.

February 2009 Classes - Cathy is doing a beautiful colorful scarf called the Morning Surf Scarf designed by that popular lace designer, Jackie Erickson Schweitzer. Jackie teaches at the Folk School and has scored another hit with this design.

June 2008 Classes - Happy Spring! We at Strings & Stitches are so excited about the change of season. The spring flowers are budding all around and trees are in full bloom. We are blooming with color all over the shop and new ideas abound. Come in and check out the new yarns and models.

April 2008 Classes - March will bring a new flavor of spring to the shop. Jean will be teaching several new classes and the continuation of the Great American Afghan. Interspersed with the new will be the regular offerings of beginning knitting and technique classes.

March 2008 Classes - Crayon Box Jacket will be offered again due to popular request. This unique and fun jacket is a colorful mix of textures and yarns.
